Hydrogeology & Environmental Permitting – Trafalgar Rd 1200 mm Feedermain (Halton Zone 4)

Managing environmental permitting and hydrogeological studies to shorten permitting times and reduce contractor costs

Palmer Environmental Consulting Group Inc. (PECG) was retained by Associated Engineering to manage and obtain environmental approvals from the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (Permit To Take Water), Conservation Halton (O.Reg 162/06), Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) (Self-Assessment under the Fisheries Act) and Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (screening under the Endangered Species Act) as part of the Trafalgar Road 1200 mm Feedermain Project.

For this ongoing project, PECG has conducted fisheries, terrestrial, groundwater and surface water assessments, including a Species at Risk habitat screening, to build upon the results of the Sustainable Halton Water & Wastewater Master Plan Report and the Approved EA documents.

PECG will ultimately prepare a comprehensive Environmental Management Plan (EMP) that will set out the environmental protection procedures to be followed during construction, including the review and inspection requirements that will be integrated into the design and construction process. The EMP will also include recommended mitigation measures to address potential impacts that are identified.
