Midhurst Wastewater Treatment Plant

Baseline characterization of erosion equally important to theoretical stability analyses to demonstrate channel capacity

Midhurst Landowners Group is proposing to construct a wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) that discharges treated effluent to Willow Creek, at its crossing of Highway 26, in Midurst, Ontario.

Palmer Environmental Consulting Group Inc. (PECG) was retained by Hutchinson Environmental Sciences Ltd. to complete a fluvial geomorphological assessment of Willow Creek, in conjunction with its assimilative capacity study, to demonstrate to Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority that the creek can accommodate the supplemental flow without increasing bed and bank erosion above existing, natural rates. PECG’s fluvial geomorphologist led the two-phase field program, data analysis and reporting required to support the application for WWTP permitting.
