Snelgrove Drainage Ditch Sewer Protection

Sewer manhole protection through naturalized ditch realignment

Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA), in partnership with the Regional Municipality of Peel, is proposing to construct erosion control works to protect a sanitary sewer manhole exposed along a sinuous ditch that formed at the outfall of a storm sewer that drains into Etobicoke Creek, in the community of Snelgrove in Brampton, Ontario.

Palmer Environmental Consulting Group Inc. (PECG) was retained by Greck and Associates Limited to provide fluvial geomorphological criteria on which to design erosion protection works. PECG documented past morphological changes based on historical aerial photography and recommended changes to local channel morphology that address erosion risks while maintaining aquatic habitat values.
