This natural heritage planning and policy development project is for the future urban expansion of Georgetown on a 1500 acre land parcel. The project is an integrated subwatershed study and secondary plan to guide the land use planning for the urban expansion. PECG is leading the development of a Natural Heritage System (NHS) that involves the identification of significant natural heritage features based on ecological values and the applicable environmental policies and criteria including those of Halton Region’s Regional Official Plan Amendment (ROPA) 38. The project has involved multi-agency consultation (Conservation Halton, Credit Valley Conservation and Halton Region) on the development of a variable buffer framework and a woodland management and enhancement plan.
