Project Description
Palmer was retained by the District of Muskoka to complete a peer review of an Environmental Impact Study (EIS) for a townhouse development in the Town of Bracebridge. As part of the approval process, the municipality commonly requires all technical report submissions for a proposed development be peer reviewed. Our senior ecologists regularly complete peer reviews for upper- and lower-tier municipalities where there are no Conservation Authorities to provide technical review.
We undertook our standard balanced approach for this review, including a review of the adequacy of studies undertaken, adequacy of documentation and assessment, feasibility of proposed development plans, opportunities for protection, enhancement and mitigation, conformity to environmental planning policies, and rationale for conclusions and proposed recommendations.
